This is an old "shareware ethics" page from back when my personal
and company websites used to be one.... It's still here largely
because so many search engines have linked it that I deciced to
leave it online.
If you're looking for some cool shareware programs, try the Current
Projects page at SB-Software, or check out Scotts
Binary Clock or Scotts
Nixie Clock for your windows desktop.
As members of the online community, we have responsibilities
that we must live up to. My products are designed not solely as a
source of income, but also as tools to enhance the lives of their
users. I don't participate in behavior which degrades or hinders
anyone's online experiences.
- No Spam
A disturbing trend has been
for shareware authors to post SPAM, either in newsgroups
or directly by email. These authors are insulting you,
and they're degrading the online community. Don't
register their software. If they got to you through spam,
can you be certain they won't "sell" your email
to another spammer? Will they continue to fill the
newsgroups and email system with worthless noise that you
have to delete?
- Privacy
I believe in the utmost levels
of privacy. If you send me an email message, the contents
of your message will remain completely private -- for my
eyes only. I don't maintain "mailing lists", or
give out email addresses to other people or other
companies. In fact, I'm willing to delete any record that
you ever visited me at your request.
My credit card registration system uses SECURE HTTP to
protect your personal information. After you've
registered, any extraneous information not used expressly
for the registration is automatically purged from the
system.
You will never receive an unsolicited email from me,
nor will anything arrive at your doorstep.
